Cindy and Corey arrived home on 3/31/12 with Svetlana ("Lana"), their newly adopted daughter from Russia. The photo shows them arriving home at the Miami International airport. The Schmatjens are enjoying their very energetic addition to the family. They are now a family of 7: Corey and Cindy and their children - CJ (14), Annika (12), Joel (10), Steven (8), and now Lana (3). Corey has been a pastor at Palm Vista Community Church in Miami Lakes, FL for 10 years. Cindy home schools all of the children. Lana fits well with her noisy, active brothers and her older sister & roommate, Annika, is doing a great job helping care for Lana. After becoming the birth parents of two children, Shonette & Darrel Koebel became foster parents, which led them to adoption of the foster children. Over a number of years, they adopted 5 children and became birth parents to 2 more. But God wasn't through adding to their family. In 2009, stepping out in faith, the Koebels began the process of their first international adoption. In 2010, they adopted Anna Kae Hope from Ukraine.
