Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, children are a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons born in one youth.  Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them.
Psalm 127:2-5

About 14 years ago, after becoming the birth parents of two children, we wanted to provide a home for a child that had no parents.  After all, all children want the same thing: to be loved and to belong to a family.  Thus began our journey as foster parents, which led to adoption.  Over a number of years, we adopted 5 children and became birth parents to 2 more.  Our family was now up to 9 children.  When our youngest reached the age of 7, we began hearing a small voice telling us that we  needed to adopt a child through the international adoption processs.  Knowing there was no way we could afford to do so, we prayed about it, and kept hearing that voice, the voice of God.  Knowing it would all be God's doing, we stepped out in faith to adopt  a  little girl from Ukraine.  It was a huge step to take, but God was with us every step of the way.
