Financial Assistance for College or Technical School:
To qualify for financial assistance, the following critieria must be met:
Have migrated to the United States from Russia or Ukraine and have proof of your place of birth and legal status to be in America;
Been adopted from Russia or Ukraine and have proof of adoption and U.S. citizenship;
Maintain a minimum average grade of "C" (2.0 GPA); and,
You must be working towards an Associates or Bacherlors Degree at an institute of higher learning or a technical school in the continential United States.
Financial assistance will be provided in an amount up to $2,000.00 per calendar year. The amount(s) awarded will be determined based on the number of applications received and the funds available.
Applications cannot be considered until fully completed and all documents required are submitted. The deadline for completion is March 1 for the Fall semester and October 1 for the Spring semester.
All information submitted is for use only by the Fory Charitable Trust and its Advisory Board for consideration and will be kept strictly confidential.
Required Documentation:
Three letters of recommendation. One from each of the following catagories: (i) Teacher, counselor or advisor; (ii) employer or family friend; and, (iii) Minister or staff memeber of your church.
Graduating high school seniors must provide a certifed copy of their transcript.
College students with less than thirty hours much provide a certified copy of their high school transcript and college transcript.
College students with more than thirty hours must provide a certifed copy of only their college transcript.
Brief personal statement including your career goals; any extra-cirrcular activites in which you are now or have been involved; honors that you have received; and, volunteer work completed and continuing volunteer goals.
